I know y'all have seen this picture floating around Pinterest...
Well, I decided I wasn't going to pay $25 for twine wrapped around a wooden letter and I would try to make it myself.
So, I ventured out to Hobby Lobby and found the supplies I needed...
Twine - $3
Ribbon - $2
Letter R - $2
Total cost - $7
Total time to make - approximately 2 hours
Ok, so my last name doesn't start with an R but John's does and I live in his house. And *hopefully* SOON my last name will start with an R too....
Basically all I did was wrap the twine around the letter. This was hard going around the edges and corners and I had to cut the twine and start in different areas to get it all covered.
Then I tied a bow with the ribbon and hot glued it to the front.
And then I cut 2 same length strips of ribbon and hot glued one end of each piece to the back.
After those are dried, tie the top ends of the ribbon into a bow around your hook on your door!
(sorry I didn't take step by step pics)
And here is my final product!
It's not perfect and I also decided not to add the rosettes.
But I love it!!
And now I know that I should always try to DIY things I see on Pinterest before actually paying someone to do it! This was so simple and way cheaper than ordering from Etsy. And, I also have the satisfaction of knowing I made it myself!!
What do y'all think?
Have y'all done any DIY from Pinterest?
