And Lucy Makes 3

Remember this picture I posted a few weeks ago on Fun With Our Phones?

Well, Sunday, September 18th, Lucy officially became a part of our family.

We were not supposed to have 3 cats...

I was NOT going to be that crazy cat lady with 3 cats!

And my true intentions when I brought her home were for sure not to keep her. I honestly thought I could find her a home.

All the no-kill shelters were full and after talking it over, John and I couldn't let her go to a shelter where we would have to pay $25 as a 'donation' and then they would probably put her to sleep.

So, we fostered her through Friends For Life, a no kill shelter in Houston.

I knew it could be up to 4 months before they had a place in the shelter for her.

What I didn't know is how much this sweet little girl would mean to me before the 4 months was over.

One of my friends even wanted to adopt her and I just couldn't let her go. I knew at that point she had found her forever home...

With me, John, Cotton and Pixie.

So, the next Sunday, we filled out all the paperwork and made it official!

Of course we had to have our little photo session as a celebration of the adoption...

They are a happy little family :)

And now I have learned my lesson and will never bring home another stray kitten again ;)

This story makes me smile so big!!! Fostering is one of the most rewarding and meaningful things I've done but it's SO hard to say goodbye in the end. I'm glad little Lucy found a forever home with you and is fitting in with the other kitties :) I'm going to be an old cat lady one day. I just know it!!

Pixie always looks pissed, Cotton always looks so smug, and Lucy always has that sweet little sister face!

You basically have all three cats that I want! Ha! :)

Hi Savannah! I found your blogged through H-town Blogger Hotties. You looked familiar in the picture from the last meet up so I came over to see if I could figure out how I knew you. I'm still not sure but I did see the double T in the background of one of your pictures. I went to Tech so if you did too, maybe that's how! Anyway, just wanted to say hi! Maybe we'll meet at an event sometime!
