All About Me - Your Questions Answered

Because I have a lot of new followers, I opened my blog up to questions! This post is dedicated to the questions you asked and I'll do another post with other random facts about me that I think you should know! :)

Suze asked: If you could go anywhere in the world - money no object - where and why?

hmmm... Capetown, South Africa. Random, I know. But, ever since I saw it on the Bachelor, I've wanted to go. It's a place that I probably would never have the funds to visit so that's why I'm picking there.

Suze also asked: Desert Island - 3 books?

Y'all are gonna kill me. I'm not much of a reader. When I read, I read chick-lit books with not much meaning or thought behind them. I think my 3 favorite books I've read recently are the Lauren Conrad Series. Yup, I just admitted that. Oh well ;)

Lyndsay asked: If you had a day all to yourself what would you do?

If I had NOTHING to do like laundry or getting the house cleaned or stuff like that, I'd for sure get a mani/pedi at my favorite nail place and plop myself down in front of the TV and watch F*R*I*E*N*D*S DVD's. Exciting life I live right? If money were no object here, I'd spend the day shopping by myself. I would much rather shop by myself than with other people surprisingly.

Rach asked: If you could have any special talent or skill what would it be?

I have always wished I could sing. ALWAYS. It doesn't mean I don't try, but it's not pretty ;)

Amber asked: If you weren't a nurse, what else would you want to do?

Can a stay at home girlfriend be an answer? Honestly, that's what I want to do. I'd love to be able to stay at home and volunteer at the animal shelters and eventually take care of kids.
Obviously, that's not an option. Y'all know my love for animals. If money were no object and I could go back to school, I'd be a vet tech in a heart beat. I wouldn't want to be a vet because it's too much work ;) Vet tech's get to be the pet nurse. :) But the pay is bad so that's why money would have to be no issue.
So yeah, a vet tech :)

Amber also asked: Did you always know you wanted to be a nurse or did you have something else in mind when you were younger?

Up until I was a sophomore in high school if you asked what I wanted to be, I would have told you a pediatrician. My chemistry teacher I had told me I wasn't smart enough for that and it really stuck with me. So, nursing was the next best thing. As bad as what the teacher said to me sounds, I'm glad he said it because I know I would have never made it through Med School and I would have never wanted to spend my life like that. When people ask me why I became a nurse, not one specific instance stands out like it does for most people. Most people have experiences in the hospital that makes them want to do it and I didn't. I just said I wanted to do it, and I did it.

Questions from Twitter that were originally supposed to be in a VLOG, but John decided not to do it...
(PS: These are the questions I remembered and don't know who asked them... I can't scroll that far back on twitter :( )

How did you and John meet?

Match.com. Yup! The internet worked for us :) If you are doing the online dating route, something I recommend is getting to know the person first before actually meeting. John and I used AIM and text to communicate for about 3 weeks before we met in person and I really think it helped us that first day we actually saw each other. We went to lunch and to the Houston Zoo on our first date!
You can read about our love story here

Do you have a song?

We don't really have a song that we've discussed.
Stoney Larue "Feet Don't Touch the Ground" is a song we danced to the first night we went out and every time I hear it now it takes me back to our first date. And John, the New Yorker, taught ME, the Texas girl, how to two-step :)

What's the most annoying habit the other one has?

Can I name more than one?? ;) I kid (sorta) ha
John sets his alarm to go off like 2 hours before he actually gets up. Now I set my alarm earlier than I have to get up too and hit snooze, but John doesn't hear his alarm. I have to kick him, push him, and even yell at him to turn the stupid alarm off. Yup, every 9 minutes for over an hour. Pretty annoying when I'm trying to sleep. And what makes it worse - the alarm is birds chirping. SO annoying!

I love Q&A posts! I'm totally with you on shopping alone. I'm ok with a friend or a group for the social aspect, but prefer to shop alone if I'm really planning on purchasing anything. Much more focused and efficient! I loved learning more about you and your sweet man!

Unless it's my mom, I'd rather shop by myself than with other people. Glad to know I'm not the only one! :)

I love to shop alone, too!! Sometimes I like to go with people for fun (or if I need advice) but when I want to be super productive, I go alone. Love this post! I just might have to copy you :)

Oh I love these posts! I'm totally just like you when it comes to shopping. I'd much rather shop alone than with friends or the hubby. I had to lol on the alarm thing. I think I'd hang him for the chirping birds. I could handle it going off every 9 minutes but the birds would absolutely drive me batty!!!
