Day 1 -
I arrived in San Diego really late Thursday night and took a cab to meet John at our hotel he had already checked into the day before. We just went to bed Thursday night and John got up early Friday morning for his last day of his conference that was taking place there.
I slept a little late then decided I needed to get out of the room to get some breakfast and not waste any time seeing San Diego.
Since it was late the night before when I got in, I didn't even realize where our hotel was. I paid very little attention while I was in the cab. Once I got up and got ready, I opened our curtains and found out we had a patio and found this view...
But imagine my surprise when I left the room and came downstairs and found this looking straight at me!
I didn't even realize our hotel was on the water...
I decided to have breakfast in our hotel restaurant, Elephant and Castle. This was the first time I had ever eaten a meal alone! The waiter was super nice and even told me of some places I could go visit while John was in his class. After breakfast, I walked down Harbor street taking in the beautiful weather and sights. I am so glad I decided to walk instead of taking a cab or the hotel shuttle. It was about a mile walk down to Seaport Village, but it was so nice.

I walked around Seaport Village for about an hour and then John decided he was going to sneak out of class early ;) His conference was right by Seaport Village so he met me out there for some lunch, more shopping and of course, dessert!

My diet went out the window on day 1 ;)

pretty ring I treated myself to

Frosted Robin Cupcakes

We got back to the hotel for some rest and decided to ask if they had a room with a bay view. We got up stairs to our new room and found this outside of our balcony.
much better!

After some rest we decided to take the ferry over to Coronado Island to check it out.
