The Nail Files

The Nail Files

Several months ago the Butter London nail polish craze was going around the blog world and twitter.

They put them on sale at Ulta for Buy 1 Get 1 Free and because everyone was talking about how wonderful they were I picked up 6 of them.

I love the colors...

But after 1 day my nails look like this...

Every time I've painted my nails with any of the colors, the next day they are chipped like the picture above. I use base coat and top coat so that's not the issue.

I don't know what it is about this nail polish and my nails but it just doesn't work for me.

Have any of you had problems with the Butter London polish?

I've never tried butter london nail polish, but I'd expect it to last a lot longer since it's so pricey! :(

ive never tried it. i wanted to buy it but i remember you talking about it not lasting a while back! I like revlon, sally hansen ultra dry and essie is ok too sometimes.

Those are all so pretty, but how annoying! They use Butter at the place I get mani/pedis and it seems to last me just under a week. They do two top coats though, maybe that's why?

I've never tried Butter London ... I always wanted to because they have such pretty colors (I especially love that blue you have) but now I'm wary to try if they chip so bad/fast! Thanks for linking up girlie!!! xoxo

I've had the same issue w this polish. :( Its proof that you don't always pay for what you get. I use all types of nail polish and the best one for the $ is Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear.
How are the wedding plans coming along? Did I see yall are going for the destination wedding? Good choice!

I love those colors, especially the blue! I've never tried Butter London so I'm no help there. It sucks that it chips so easily for you. :-/

I've never tried Butter London but I guess after all the hype about it died down I did start hearing complaints so I've stayed away. I hate doing all the work of painting nails only to have them chip! :(

That's why I pretty much never paint my nails. I cannot stand when they chip off! I don't feel like my polish ever lasts long. Never tried that brand.

Have you heard of Zoya polishes? Natural ingredients and supposedly stay on a long time. (I've never used it.) They are having a special right now where you get 2 polishes free just pay shipping using code ZOYA2012. I think it is still going on... Zoya.com

I have the same problem with butter! So sad because they do have good colors. I'll stick with my good ole opi. Even essie does weird things on my nails. :-(

I've never heard of Butter London; I had always been an OPI diehard fan. Those shades are TOO cute though, sad they didn't last!

Such a shame they don't last on you! I have been really happy with the ones I have. I have a love/hate relationship like this with Essie... I love the colors so much but a lot of the time it takes 3+ for it to even look right on me.

Oh that stinks! Butter London has become my favorite polish because it lasted like, 10 days with no chipping! That's weird that it chipped on you.
