Wedding/Pinteresting Wednesday

Well, unfortunately we haven't made very much progress in the wedding planning department.

:(

What we have decided:

It's for sure a destination wedding in...

{this is not our save the date or wedding date, but I love it}

I've said for a long time I've wanted a destination wedding, but once we got engaged we did explore other options. Unfortunately weddings in Houston were way out of our budget and even if they were in our budget, I'd have a hard time paying tens of thousands of dollars for one day when we could use the money for other things.

So, we explored the destination wedding option.

We researched hotels, countries, prices....

And finally decided we needed to get a travel agent.

We met with a travel agent on Friday afternoon and she really helped us make some decisions and we are waiting on her now to get back with us for package prices and wedding availability.

We know it will be in December, right before Christmas, unless the travel agent comes back with some highly ridiculous package prices. The last thing we want is our guests going broke just to see us get married.

The resort I fell in love with and am REALLY hoping is available is Dreams Riviera Cancun.

This is their wedding gazebo...

Gorgeous huh?

So no date or location means we really can't start planning much else ;)

I've decided on wedding colors (at least I think I have)

The Bridesmaids will be in teal/turquoise dresses and I will use all the other bright colors (pink, yellow, green, purple) as accent colors. I'm going to use majority teal and hot pink though.

At first, I was going to use teal and coral. I loved the color combo but there are too many different shades of both so I'm just going to use bright fun colors and run with it. I know once Spring gets here I'll be able to find all kinds of neat things for decorating tables and just little extras to bring with us.

I know I can't be too picky with my flowers because we will be in Mexico after all, and what's in season in December might be limited. But, if I'm pretty sure this is what I'm going to show them in hope they can reproduce something similar.

And the one thing John has for sure decided on...

The guys attire.

Of course, teal ties will be worn instead of orange. :)

And that's about all we have so far!!

Hopefully I'll be able to share a confirmed wedding date with y'all soon!!

LOVE IT! We did a destination wedding, so let me know if I can help with anything. We stayed at Dreams in Puerto Vallarta & were really happy with it. Our friends even went back 4 years later & had their wedding there too. I think you are going to be so happy you went with a DW :)

I love looking at things you pin to your wedding board! We had a hard time picking a date because another couple had requested the chapel we wanted on the date we wanted. But it worked out, and we're getting married 3 days before Christmas. haha But, hey, it's what worked for us.

That gazebo is seriously to die for! I hope it works out for you! Can I come crash your wedding? ;)

Anyway, the colors are beautiful and I envision many awesome awesome pictures with the teal! I mean, the ocean in the background will match! It'll be awesome!

If the bf and I didn't have some really old family members, we would totally toy with the idea of a destination wedding, but I can't leave out my grandpa, etc! haha
