Wedding Wednesday - Something Blue

Since our wedding colors include teal/turquoise, finding what my something blue was going to be wasn't difficult.

I love when brides wear shoes to match their wedding colors so what could be a better 'something blue' than my shoes to match my bridesmaid dresses and the other teal details of our wedding day??

I found tons of ideas on Pinterest, but couldn't find ANY that were still in stock or that actually linked to a website where I could buy them... (that's one of the horrible things about interest!}

These pics were my inspiration...

Finally after looking at every possible shoe site I could find, I found the ones!!

I ended up ordering them off of Piperlime, but they are Via Spiga brand. I had a 20% off coupon plus free shipping and free returns so if they didn't work out, I wasn't out any money.

They ended up being absolutely PERFECT!!

They match the bridesmaid dresses perfectly. I mean, they are the EXACT same color. I am not a heel person so a 4 inch heel was not an option for me either. I can't say it enough, they're perfect. I'm a little embarrassed at the amount of money I spent on them, but I plan on wearing them for our church ceremony as well and I even bought another dress recently that these will go perfectly with.

Because I'm not a heel wearer, I know they won't last through the 3 hour reception so I was on the hunt for a cute pair of teal flip flops too.

I ended up picking these up at Kohls for about $10!

I am so glad to start checking things off the list!!

What was your something blue??

I'm all about wedding shoes that you can wear again! I got silver wedges to wear to mine and I wear them to work all the time now :-)

I love the shoes that you chose. I wore flip flops for my ceremony. I changed into heels for the reception, since I took the skirt off my dress to make it short. For the ceremony, I wore a blue (it was like Tiffany blue. Pool from David's Bridal) sash around my dress. It was one of my colors!

My something blue was an old piece of ribbon woven into a piece of my great-grandmother's wedding dress. My granny then cut it into a handkerchief and I carried it with my flowers.

I am working on putting a picture of my great-grandmother and paw paw from their wedding in a frame with the handkerchief in it too.

Happy Wednesday!

I love those! My colors are navy/silver, so I think I'm going to do blue shoes too. Or maybe jewelry. We'll see if I can find shoes I like in the right color...

Love the flip flops too-- super cute! :)

If you are not used to high heels, choose the appropriate colored bridal shoes for your wedding party.
