Do y'all know Megan? She's one of my best blog turned IRL friends!
Well, she is one adventurous girl and went to live in Charleston for the summer! I went to visit her this weekend and had so much fun!! I had never even thought about visiting Charleston before until I started planning to visit her. I didn't realize there was so much to do there!
I left bright and early Friday morning and after a long day of traveling, I finally made it to Charleston about 3pm. Megan picked me up from the airport and we headed straight to Magnolia Plantation.
Magnolia Plantation was gorgeous. You can read all about the history here.\
We decided to just walk around the grounds and also paid for a tour of the actual house. Unfortunately we couldn't take any pictures inside the house, but I enjoyed hearing all the history.

After our trip to Magnolia Plantation, we made a visit to Red's Ice House at Shem Creek. We sat out on the huge patio, enjoyed some drinks and even did some dolphin watching. It was so cool to see all the dolphins just dancing in the water right in front of us!
Later in the evening we enjoyed dinner at High Cotton.
Best steak EVER y'all!
After dinner, we walked to Kaminsky's to see what all the hype was about. There was a line out the door so we knew it had to be good.
We indulged in a Key Lime Pie Martini, a slice of white chocolate chip cake, and a brandy milkshake. Needless to say, we probably both gained 10 lbs after our night!
It was yummy and I'm glad we got to try 2 of the famous downtown Charleston restaurants in 1 night!
Stay tuned for day 2 tomorrow!

Looks like you had fun near my 'neck-of-the-woods!' Isn't Charleston gorgeous?
Never been but would love to visit there someday. That house is so pretty. And I love that vacations are usually about eating and drinking yummy stuff!
So glad you came!! I had so much fun with you (even if that does mean gaining 10 lbs). Oops! See ya in August!
So jealous!! I've always wanted to visit Charleston. I'm dying over the dessert/dessert drinks!!
Seriously, the best thing about Charleston is the food! I've never actually done the tour of the Magnolia Plantation, but it is beautiful!
Oh that looks SO fun! Charleston is on my "must visit" list, so it's great to see the best places to visit once we make it there! Can't wait to hear more!
The plantation looks amazing! I'm sad I never checked that out. Love the photos!
