Wedding Wednesday - The Registry

We started our registry quite a while ago, but just recently completed it (with a few tweaks here and there). Since our shower is coming up in about 2 months we knew we had to get it done soon!

Doing our registry was alot harder than we had thought! John and I both had apartments/houses before we moved in together so we already have so much stuff. Even though we don't really need very much, we had to remember that it was ok to upgrade stuff we already had. People will want to buy us stuff for the wedding so we needed to make sure we had registries with enough things to choose from.

We decided to register at Macy's, Bed Bath and Beyond, and We originally had an online registry started at Crate and Barrel, but decided 4 was too much and everything at Crate and Barrel could be found at the other places. So, we deleted that one and just went with the 3.

Here are some of the things on our registry that we are most excited about *hopefully* adding to our home...

1. Dishes

We decided on the Hotel Collection Bone China from Macy's.

It took us forever to decide on dishes!! John wanted simple and white, I like color. I finally gave in and am really happy with the choice we made. We decided not to do fine china (yes, all you traditionalists can scream at me all you want). This will work in an every day setting or we can use the accent plates to dress it up for a more formal setting.

We also registered for the low rim soup bowls and almost all of the serving pieces that go along with this set.

2.  The Kitchenaid Architect Stand Mixer from Macy's.

We don't NEED this, but I wanted it. And what better time to get it than when you are getting married. This is something that we would never buy for ourselves, but would love to have!

3. Bedding

We decided on the Hotel Collection Gradient Duvet Cover and matching accessories from Macy's.

Ok, this is something we really do need. We agreed on this pattern after lots of back and forth. He likes manly, I like girly, so this was a good compromise.

4. Bathrooms

1. Nicole Miller Chatelaine Bath Ensemble (from BBB)
2. Suite Platinum Bath Rugs in White (from BBB)
3. Martha Stewart Towels in lemon sorbet (from Macy's)
4. Rosette Shower Curtain (from BBB)
5. Microdry Bath Towels in Blue (from BBB)
6. Microdry Bath Towels in White (from BBB)

1.Highline Bath Ensemble in Gray (from BBB)
2. Avanti Bath Towels in Granite (from Macy's)
4. Microdry Bath Towels in Gray (from BBB)
5. Suite Platinum Bath Rugs in Nickel (from BBB)

We desperately need new bathroom stuff. When we first moved in to the house, we just bought cheap walmart stuff for the time being so this will be major upgrades for us! And I'm still using some of the towels that I used in college!

5. Fun Kitchen Accessories

1. MU Waffle Kitchen Towels (from BBB)
3. Martha Stewart Utensil Set (from Macy's)

I love color in the kitchen so having these accessories to will really brighten things up! These are all things we use on a regular basis and could use new of.

What were some of your favorite things on your registry that you recieved?

I'm not married so I didn't actually receive this on my registry, but I love the Martha Stewart Melamine mixing bowls. Seriously, they're my favorite and I use them all the time!

Yay, go you for not registering for fine china! My MIL was hell-bent on us registering for it, but I refused... whats the point? We will never be that formal! And I looove all the kitchen gadgets you picked out - you'll LOVE the mixer!

Everyone kept asking me about fine china too, even though I didn't really want it. So you know what I did? Chose a Kate Spade pattern. You KNOW no one was going to get that, at over $150 a place setting!! haha

I love your choices!! Especially your dishes decision.

The most useful things we got were our dishes and towels- lots of towels! :)

I didn't register for fine china either. I have a set that was passed down to me and I'll probably still never use it. The mixer was definitely something you HAD to register for. I love mine!

My favorite thing was our mixer that we got, I really wanted our Dyson but we ended up being able to get it with GC's Brad's favorite was his stainless steel grill set from Williams-Sonoma, he uses it multiple times a week! ...oh and the apple slicer ha!

Great registries! I didn't register for china, either, just a ton of everyday dishes, which turned out to be perfect. And the KitchenAid mixer? You'll wonder what you ever did without it! It's amazing. We also had a registry at Macy's, and it's a great place to register because of the Star Rewards you'll earn.

I love the bedding!! And all the grey stuff-- it's such a gorgeous and not-too-feminine color! Oh, and we didn't do china either. Who needs that anymore these days??
