New York Itinerary

In 1 week, John and I are getting on a plane and heading back to the Big Apple.  This will be our 3rd time there together and yet we still have new things on our list to do! But you better believe we have our old favorites on our list too :)

Since both of the other trips we've taken there have been at Christmas, it's going to be nice to be there with out that extra hustle and bustle of the holidays and enjoy the fall weather!

So, what's new on our list of things to do this trip?

The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island tour

This picture is the closest John and I have gotten to the Statue of Liberty. We're really hoping that the line to do this tour is not wrapped completely around Battery Park like it has been on our previous visits. This is something I'd love to do and it's on our list if the line isn't ridiculous!

Central Park

Can you believe we've never walked Central Park? It's always so flipping cold when we're there so being outside just isn't exactly fun! I'm looking forward to the nice weather and being able to actually enjoy being outside. I know Central Park is big, but I'm really looking forward to just taking a leisurely stroll around the park :)

Visit the Grimaldi's Pizza under the Brooklyn Bridge

This is one thing that we've always been told to do, yet haven't done it. We love the Lombardi's pizza in NY and it's easier to get to so we've always just eaten there. I've heard the pizza is excellent here and the atmosphere under the Brooklyn Bridge is awesome so we want to try this out.

Visit the Today Show

John isn't quite on board with this yet, but I really hope I can get him to agree :) I haven't really looked in to this much yet, but I'm hoping they tell in advance if anyone special is going to be on the show so we can decide which day to go. Anyone have suggestions on the best way to go about this?

Mets Game!

The first thing John did when he found out we were going to a wedding in September was look at the Mets schedule. He's a die hard Mets fan and has never been to a game at Citi Field since we never go in baseball season. Luckily the Mets are playing at home while we are there so for his birthday I got him some awesome seats for the game sitting right above the Mets dugout. I think this is what John is looking forward to the most!

And the Oldies but Goodies on our list:

Shake Shack

Top of the Rock

China Town and 17 Wo-Hop
(this is a must for us because this is where we ate right after we got engaged!  Classy, I know ;) ha)

Little Italy and rainbow cookies

Crumbs Cupcakes

Times Square

We'll be visiting John's grandparents on his mom's side atleast 1 day while we're there as well as having dinner with John's dad side of the family on Friday night and then of course, his cousins wedding on Saturday night, the whole reason we're going!

I'm so excited to be back in our favorite city!

YOU'VE NEVER WALKED IN CENTRAL PARK?!?! Girl, what have you been doing!? ;)

Download the app! it makes finding some of the sights easier. Like Bow Brdige, I could never find that thing and then I used the app to find the castle and walked through the Ramble and poof! There it was! Have SOOO much fun on your trip.

Also, Shake Shack has some serious lines, but it moves kind of quick.

Have fun! I've been once and it was for New Years Eve, so I'd love to go back when the weather is nicer and it's not so crazy there...can't wait to hear about your trip!

Ellis Island is still closed from damage by Hurricane Sandy, but you should be able to visit Liberty Island. Have so much fun in my city - I'm jealous of all the yummy places you'll be eating!

NYC is always all about the food for me. Grimaldi's is sooo good!! I've also become a Lombardi's person because of its location, but Grimaldi's really is sooo good. Just be prepared to wait! And Crumbs and Shake Shack. I can't even say enough.
