NYC Recap: Day 5

Our last day in New York was wedding day, the whole reason we visited in the first place! The wedding wasn't until 7:30 so we got up early, and rode the train to Woodside to visit John's grandparents on his mom's side. They've recently been diagnosed with dementia and haven't been doing too well, so it was really nice to see them and visit with them for a little bit. I think John and I are officially pros at the subway now. We navigated it so well even outside of Manhattan!

After our visit with them, I had a hair appointment at Dry Bar to get my hair done for the wedding. Of course I had to snap pics of the sights on the way there. haha

The Dry Bar was inside the Le Parker Meridien hotel. Boy was it nice!!! I had the BEST customer service at Dry Bar and can't wait to try out the brand new one that just opened in Houston.

After the appointment, I went back to the hotel, John and went and grabbed us a pizza for lunch since we hadn't eaten all day and then it was time to get ready for the wedding. I ended up having to put my hair halfway back because it was SO humid and hot that day. By the time I had gotten back to the hotel it had frizzed up on top :( But, I still love the way it turned out. I did my makeup myself after Sephora told me they would charge me $50 to get it done!

The wedding was at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers. OMG, it was AMAZING! The view was just outstanding. The ceremony took place on the Pier overlooking the Hudson and you could see Jersey in the background! It was a gorgeous wedding!

It was such a fun night! In fact, I had a little too much fun ;) I'm pretty sure we didn't get back to the hotel until after 2 and then our room key wouldn't work. I had to sit and wait outside the door with all of our hangover necessities while John went back downstairs. And I did what any other drunk person would do, I documented it. haha

I have no pictures from Sunday because I was majorly sick all day. I had a visit with the toilet Sunday morning before we left for the airport and was miserable all day. I would not recommend riding in a NYC cab or flying with a severe hangover ;)

But we had another fantastic trip to New York and will be back soon!

The dress you ended up wearing is gorgeous-- great choice! The "i'm drunk" Instsgram-- so guilty sometimes of doing that. I usually delete the next day in shame. haha.

All these posts make me miss NYC. I've only ever been there one time and it was SO quick. I definitely need to go back and experience more (except for the hangover). You looked adorable!!

I've only been to NYC for a really quick whirlwind one day trip. I want to go back so bad to be able to experience it more. I think I need to go with you since you have great places to go. :) I loved your dress. You looked so beautiful for the wedding!

Hey Savannah! I know you posted this a couple weeks ago but nursing school has been kicking my blog reading butt lately ;) (I'm an LPN in a 1yr transition program for my RN). Anyways, you are by far my most favorite blog to read...and then after looking at pictures from the wedding, I see you have great taste! ;) I wore the exact same dress to a wedding a couple weeks ago....it's super flattering and pretty!! Glad you had so much fun in NYC!!
