How in the world is my 30th birthday already over? I told John all weekend that I wasn't ready for it be over because now I'm just officially an old 30 year old. It was ok during my birthday weekend, but now I'm just feeling old!! haha
My 30th birthday party was amazing. The whole weekend was just so perfect and I am so blessed with the best husband, family and friends!
Friday I spent all day in a breastfeeding class for work. It ended up being the perfect work day - free catered breakfast and lunch and I got placed at a table with some great ladies that made the 2 full days of class tolerable!
After my class, my mom and Tim came in to town and they took me and John to Taste of Texas for an early birthday dinner. I guess this is kind of a tradition now since this is the 3rd year in a row we've eaten here for my birthday!
Saturday was the big party! My sister and Grannie flew in so while John was getting stuff ready for the party, me and my mom went to pick them up from the airport then came back home for me to get ready. I wore my Kiki La Rue outfit for the party even though it was WAY out of my comfort zone! Plus size girl wearing leopard leggings? I wasn't sure if I could pull it off, but I think it turned out good! I love these Piko tunics and I already ordered 2 more! They will be perfect with leggings and boots this fall/winter.
We were getting ready to go over to John's parents (where the party was) when John told me he wanted to go ahead and give my birthday present. He was SO sneaky and wrapped up a Blue Nile box and inside it was GARTH BROOKS tickets!!! In VEGAS!!!! I was shocked because of the box! And Garth Brooks tickets??? Awesome gift!! I had turned around to show my mom and sister the tickets and turned back around and he handed me ANOTHER Blue Nile box... with the opal ring I wanted! It is so gorgeous in person and way better than the picture. I am so in love with it - I'm sad I can't wear it every day. I didn't realize how delicate opals are! John definitely over did himself this birthday. And we're off to Vegas this Friday to celebrate some more!
We went over to John's parents after so my mom could start decorating. My only request for my party was that I wanted cat cookies that were like Cotton, Pixie and Lucy. Somehow it turned in to a cat theme, but oh my gosh, it was perfect! SO me!! My mom and John just totally outdid themselves and John's parents were awesome for letting us take over their house! John ordered all of my favorite foods for the party - pizza, empanadas, chickfila nuggets, and cupcakes. It was a random mix of food, but he knows what I like ;)
My mom made me open my gifts in front of everyone which I HATE doing, but I got so many great things. Everyone was SO generous!! I laid everything out the next day and noticed a theme.... leopard and monogram!! haha!
Sunday morning, my actual birthday, we went to breakfast with my mom, Tim, Celie and Grannie and then they headed back to Ft. Worth. John and I grabbed some starbucks and then snuggled on the couch the rest of the day in our PJ's.
It was a perfect birthday weekend - I couldn't have asked for a better 30th!
