I originally started this blog in January to start a Project 365 and really just wanted a place to document it. I couldn't keep up with it and then found out a bunch of people from home were reading and wanted me to keep writing. So, I did.
That's when What Makes Savanah Smile... was born. I really don't know how in the world I've had so much stuff to say that I could blog for 4 years! I had no idea it would ever go on this long, but it did and I am so glad! I can see a huge difference in me since that first year of blogging. I am so glad I have the last 4 years of our lives documented.
But with that being said, I really don't know what the future of this blog is. I struggle with it a lot because I have to force myself to post some days. Blogging shouldn't be like that. I struggle with this every day because when I hear things from people back home about how they're reading it, or when I get emails from readers thanking me for sharing my story, it makes me want to go on and then I'm torn on what to do. I've shared a lot with the internet over the past 4 years! Going from girlfriend, to fiance' to wife, planning a destination wedding, the loss of a pet, going through breast reduction surgery, a PCOS diagnosis.... we've been through a lot together!
I hate that blogging has turned in to a chore for me. I hate making my readers feel bad when I don't always respond to comments. I hate that people think I don't read their blog because I don't comment. I hate that blogging is all about competition (you can't tell me it's not!)
So, I've decided that today What Makes Savanah Smile... is going private. And will probably eventually go away.
The main point of this was to let everyone know and to just to say Thank You! Especially to those of of you who keep coming back and reading every single day! Whether you let me know you do or not. I appreciate it so much. My world wouldn't be the same without this blog. I've met some amazing ladies, traveled to different cities getting to meet people, and even made a few bucks. All the pictures in this post are of people I've met through blogging and it's crazy because some of these pictures were taken in Ft. Worth, Charleston, San Antonio, Gulf Shores, and even NYC!
It's been a crazy 4 years of ups and downs and right now, I just want my blog for family and close friends and those of you who are really wanting to read. I hope you can all understand that. It will be left open for a few days while I close up last minute things with Blogher and to give people an opportunity to see this. And please, if you are family or a close family friend, please email me or comment on this post and let me know you are reading so I can add you to the list. I want all of you to continue to see and hear about me and John's latest adventures. And again, if you are a loyal reader and a truly interested in our lives after this goes private, send me an email and we can chat!
And of course, I will still be on instagram so please follow me on there!
As one of my readers once said to me in an email... I hope I have shared smiles all over the world. Maybe one day I will continue.
