When It Rains

Well this past month has been anything but stellar.

You might remember that I said awhile back that we had to go to New York for John's grandfather's funeral...

When we got off the plane in Houston from our Mexico vacation, we got a phone call that John's grandfather had passed away that day. It was very unexpected so we had to make last minute arrangements to get back on an airplane and fly to New York to be with his family. We were home less than 48 hours before we were back at the airport.

We did manage to have some fun while we were in NY. We were really busy with visiting John's nanny in the hospital, the funeral, and family, but we did manage to get in to the city and see a few things and eat at some of our favorite restaurants.

Once we got home, Lucy was sick. again. She was sick about a month ago with crystals in her urine and a UTI. I guess with the stress of us being gone, something happened and she got anther UTI. So, she is on antibiotics again for 32 days. She is one expensive kitty, but we sure do love her ;)

And then, just 2 weeks later, we get a phone call that John's Nanny passed away, who was also is New York. So, more last minute flight/hotel arrangements, another 3 days of traveling and saying goodbye to another family member.

Then we get home from New York and 3 days later I'm sick. I think it was just all the stress and being cramped in an airplane 8 times over 30 days. After 4 days of being miserable I finally went to the doctor and they said I had a really bad cold that caused an ear infection. I've never had an ear infection in my life and I get one at 30!

Needless to say, it's been a really hard month for us and John's family. And sorry for the debbie downer post, but it's the reason why there's been a big lack of blog posts and wanted to document this time in our lives.

So, yes. When it rains, it definitely pours. But here's to lots of sunshiney days ahead! I'm still doing my #savanahs100happydays challenge and will be updating the blog with all of my pictures I've taken soon.

All these pictures of food made me REALLY hungry and realize that I'm late on eating lunch.

But I'm sorry that it's been such a hard time for y'all. Hoping June is better to you.
